Learners from Tullamore CTC were delighted to host their first Laois & Offaly Further Education & Employment Stakeholder Forum in the Tullamore Court Hotel on Monday the 12th of December. The forum was the culmination of work which the group undertook as part of a project entitled ‘The Future is Now’ which was funded by an EU Year of Youth Micro Grant through Leargas. The project was developed to look at the potential barriers to progression to further education and employment from the prospective of young adults. There were contributions on the day from Laois & Offaly ETB, The Tullamore Chamber, DEASP, Longford & Westmeath ETB, Jigsaw, Cormac Melia and The Offaly Local Development Company. In line with the SOLAS National FET Strategy, it is hoped that this project will help simplify progression pathways for young people in Laois & Offaly.
